Better Futures & Aspirations

This is an exciting programme designed to support migrant women holistically through group engagement and one-to-one intervention. Midaye volunteers mentors work with the women providing vital long life skills that enable them to address every aspect of their lives.

Through the work of the volunteer women gain opportunities, learning, empowerment and self-development plan that address their barriers and enable them to proceed a happier and healthier life for themselves and their families.

Midaye Volunteers engage and support women in various ways including:

  • Health development activities
  • Physical Health Sessions
  • Mental Health Focus Activities
  • Sexual health and Domestic Violence Support
  • Family Outreach and Support
  • Mentoring training and development
  • Training & developmental activities
  • Development of social / support network
  • Training & developmental activities

The Volunteers also enable migrant women to engage in the peer advocacy group, time share and external community activities for women bringing them together as a community of interest to share their issues, learn from and teach each other and resolve together community issues.

This programme is funded by the Big Lottery to support women that have high needs and rely on the services of the charity.
